Innovative Carbon Recycling Partnership: Lafarge Canada and Hyperion

Lafarge Canada has embarked on an exciting partnership with Hyperion to revolutionize carbon recycling in the construction industry. The pilot project, currently in operation at Lafarge’s Bath Cement Plant (ON), aims to integrate Hyperion's cutting-edge carbon capture technology into Lafarge's cement production process, significantly reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainability.

The partnership leverages Hyperion’s innovative techniques to capture carbon dioxide emissions directly from industrial processes. This captured carbon is then transformed into valuable products, such as aggregates for concrete, creating a closed-loop system that enhances the environmental footprint of cement production. This initiative is a significant step forward in Lafarge's commitment to

sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint, aligning with global efforts to

combat climate change.

Update on the Babcock Mill Park Reading Garden Project

In an exciting development for the Babcock Mill Park Reading Garden, Austin, a dedicated student from Ernestown Secondary School, under the guidance of his teacher Nick O’Coin, has helped finish off a significant contribution. Austin has spent his lunch hours and additional time in the school's woodshop constructing a little library. This little library will be a key feature of the new reading garden at Babcock Mill Park.

This initiative was inspired by the ninth "Imagining My Sustainable Community" workshop, which students from Odessa Public School actively participated in. Their engagement and advocacy played a pivotal role in the decision to establish the reading garden.
