At the very heart of sustainable food production is the health of soil. The microbial community and health of soil impacts the production of food for both humans and animals. Soil can also be a major player in the sequestration of carbon – a main variable to climate change.
Our guest his week, Chuck Rice, is a university distinguished professor and recipient of the Mary L. Vanier professorship in agronomy at K-State. Rice’s research focuses on finding ways to improve and protect the environment while also boosting agricultural productivity.
