Rutgers is Part of NSF-funded Consortium to Advance Photonics Research and Workforce Development | | |

Rutgers is part of a new federally funded regional collaboration to drive economic and technological advancements in photonics, a field involving the use of light in areas as diverse as medicine, communications and defense, the National Science Foundation (NSF) announced.
The consortium, which includes researchers from Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers-New Brunswick, has been awarded a development grant from the NSF’s Regional Innovation Economic Engine consortium, led by Princeton University’s Craig B. Arnold, principal investigator, and co-led by Rowan University, with partners throughout New Jersey and neighboring states Delaware, Pennsylvania and New York.

2023 Research Incubator in Climate & Health Awardees | |
The Office for Research is pleased to announce the seed funding awardees through its Research Incubator in Climate and Health! The Research Incubator in Climate and Health is an Office for Research initiative that has aimed to support researchers across Rutgers developing new research projects that intersect with institutional strengths and funding sponsor priorities at the climate-health nexus.
The Research Incubator’s Seed Funding Initiative provides pilot funding to build new and novel research projects aligned with the Incubator’s theme and to strengthen the competitive position of faculty members who seek external research funds to further support these projects. Team pilot grants are intended for groups of three or more, while early-career pilot grants are intended for single PI who have completed their research degree or post grad training within the last 10 years.

This facility is equipped with state-of-the-art proteomics instruments and bioinformatics systems, including a Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Tribrid mass spectrometer coupled with a Dionex UltiMate 3000 RSLCnano system. Sponsored by the Office for Research, the Busch Biomedical Grant program is designed to enhance biomedical research at the university and to strengthen the competitive position of faculty members who seek external research funds. The program has two funding tracks (revised for the 2023 competition):
- Early Career Pilot Grants - Single investigator awards from early-career investigators.
- New Direction Pilot Grants - Single investigator awards for mid- and senior-career investigators to facilitate exploration of innovative new projects that illustrate a significant departure from the applicant’s previously funded work.
Applicants are not required to submit a notice of intent to submit a full application for either track. Full proposals are due June 1.
