Amalie R. Rothschild is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer celebrated for creating documentaries around social issues, and for her music photographs from the Fillmore East, Woodstock and other seminal rock events from 1968 to 1974. 
 
IT HAPPENS TO US  remains the classic plea for women's reproductive freedoms and the legal right to choose. It was the first documentary that gave voice to women's experiences with abortion before Roe vs Wade, when the procedure was legal in only one state: New York.
