A New Age: Update on Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis and Treatment

A luncheon and talk by Dr. Lawrence Honig

April 2 at 12 pm

Faculty House and via Zoom

Neurodegenerative dementia, notably Alzheimer’s disease (AD), affects 7 million in the US. Advances in diagnosis, with noninvasive tests, and FDA-approved medications offer hope for slowing disease progression. While not without risks, these developments mark a significant shift for elderly patients with cognitive changes. Dr. Lawrence Honig will discuss new diagnostics and therapeutics, their applicability, and current and future uses.

Dr. Lawrence Honig is a Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and attending neurologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
