Dear Families,

The Season of Easter is a special time to celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ who rose from the dead and renewed humankind. As we move through this year ahead, let us always remember that we are filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit and be faithful and enthusiastic witnesses of our Catholic faith to everyone we encounter.

Our Eighth graders have been preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation for the past two years. During this time, they have received catechesis on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, participated in numerous volunteer opportunities, selected a Confirmation Sponsor, researched the saints, written reflection letters and met with our clergy. Please pray for all our students that will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on May 6 and 7.

Our Second graders will be making their First Holy Communion on May 11.

Their talented catechists have prepared them to understand and appreciate the Eucharistic meal and to properly receive the Body and Blood of Jesus. Please pray for all of the children in our parish preparing to receive their First Holy Communion.

We are so grateful to have your children in our Religious Education program. Our goal is to provide ongoing faith formation through Catholic instruction, faith filled experiences and service to God’s people. The most important part of your child’s faith formation is from the family, the home and your example. We have the blessing of building on that formation, developing it and forming a generation of faith filled disciples. As we enjoy this season of Spring, remember to continue to cultivate your faith and your children’s faith. Our Catholic faith never stops growing and produces the most important fruits of all, the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

God Bless You,

Katie Cook

In a new Pastoral Letter released Feb. 26, Detroit Archbishop

Allen H. Vigneron said the Church must reach out with the

compassion and love of Christ to those who experience

gender confusion, helping them see the beauty and dignity of

their identity as a son or daughter created in he image of a loving God.
