Boil Water Advisory Lifted

Notice for residents on Skyline Drive, Cliffside Circle, and Andorra Lane

Ventura, Calif. - The Boil Water Advisory is lifted for residents in the Skyline Drive, Cliffside Circle, and Andorra Lane effective Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Water has been fully restored and after sampling multiple points in the area, water quality test results show that indicated the water is safe to drink.

On June 17, 2024, residents in Arroyo Verde Park area were notified to boil their water as a safety precaution following loss of system pressure due to a water main break on Foothill Road. As a precaution, Ventura Water and the State Water Resources Control Board advised 36 customers in the area boil water or use bottled water for drinking and food preparation.

Water quality protocols indicate that if water pressure falls below five pounds per square inch, a notice of boil water is issued out of an abundance of caution to affected customers. Water pressure losses can occur due to various events, including water treatment plant or pump station shutdowns, equipment failures, power outages, main breaks, emptying of storage facilities, pressure fluctuations, and uncontrolled events like system dewatering during major fires or natural disasters.

Ventura Water crews performed an emergency shutdown to immediately respond to a water main break that occurred on Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m. on a 16-inch line near Arroyo Verde Park. Ventura Water crews quickly replaced a 20-foot section of the water line by Tuesday afternoon. Due to the loss of water service at the park, Parks and Recreation subsequently closed the park until water could be restored.
