Please join us for this important webinar, “Supervision Basics for the New and Aspiring Supervisor”, led by Michael Blady, LCSW-R and Paul Margolies, Ph.D.
When this webinar was offered in May, 300 people registered. Participants told us they found the presentation very interesting and extremely helpful in better understanding their role as a supervisor. But many thought it would be even better if attendance was limited.
We listened, and so are offering three new limited registration sessions of “Supervision Basics: For the New and Aspiring Supervisor (and Experienced Supervisors who are Looking for a Refresher)” The sessions are scheduled for October 25 (2:30 – 4:30PM), November 28 (10AM – Noon), and January 24, 2024 (2:30 – 4:30PM). The material will be the same for each session so pick one date.
Agency supervisors play a key role in ensuring that recipients receive high-quality services and staff are provided with the support they need to develop the skills, knowledge, and values to do their jobs. Good supervision has been linked to positive staff outcomes like improved job satisfaction, higher morale, and learning evidence-based practices.
Unfortunately, most people who become supervisors aren’t offered training or coursework before taking on this important role. This can make an always challenging job even more difficult.
This webinar is designed to address this gap in supervisor training and education. We will focus on the transition from clinician/direct service worker to supervisor. Participants will learn about the roles of the supervisor and the skills and competencies supervisors need to develop and support staff, such as creating a safe and supportive workplace, providing constructive feedback, maintaining appropriate boundaries, supervising through a lens of cultural competency and humility, and what it means to become part of the management team.
2 CEUs for this training are pending approval.
