Some of Our Featured Speakers

Shannon Berger, P.E. is the SunRISE Mission Operations Manager at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Shannon grew up watching space shuttles come in for a landing over her elementary school, dreaming of working in the aerospace sector. Her first job post-college was firing hypergolic rocket engines at SpaceX, working development for the Crew Dragon spaceship all the way to its maiden voyage to the International Space Station. She then went to NASA JPL to work on mission operations for SunRISE with a brilliant team, to study coronal mass ejections. In her free time she can be found trail running, backcountry skiing, rock climbing, flying airplanes, reading, or planning the next adventure.

Dr. James Beletic is Chief Science Officer at Teledyne Space Imaging. Dr. Beletic has been part of the Teledyne team for over 20 years. He was previously the President of Teledyne Imaging Sensors, whose world leading sensors are operating in instrumentation at every major ground-based telescope, including the James Webb Space Telescope, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, Pluto New Horizons, OSIRIS-REx, and weather satellites such as the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite. The next generation of infrared space astronomy missions (Euclid, Roman Space Telescope, SPHEREx, NEO Surveyor, ARIEL) are all made possible by Teledyne’s imaging sensors.
