Registration is now open for the MPT Summit: Envisioning the Future of HIV/STI Prevention and Contraception!
The meeting is sponsored by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the NIH and will occur at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) Fishers Lane Conference Center. This Summit aligns with the priority of the recent Executive Order to advance research in contraception (EO 14101 - Strengthening Access to Affordable, High-Quality Contraception and Family Planning Services), the NIH Strategic Plan for HIV and HIV-Related Research, and the importance of multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs) mentioned throughout the HHS STI National Strategic Plan 2021-2025.
The MPT Summit will bring together experts from stages of the MPT pathway and serve as a forum to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field.
What are MPTs? They're innovative products designed to deliver combinations of HIV and other STI preventatives, and/or contraception. Currently, there are two dozen MPTs in development, utilizing a range of delivery platforms such as intravaginal rings, films, gels, and implants. Despite the complexities and challenges faced by the MPT field, these products hold promise in revolutionizing women's health by offering multiple indications in single products.
Don't wait to RSVP, registration for this event is free and capped at 175 in-person attendees!
