Program to Provide Support to Students in Distress 

A program that pairs police with trained mental health workers has expanded to the University of Waterloo. It builds on a University of Guelph pilot program that began last fall. In less than six months, the program was used over 100 times.

After Deadly Shootings, City Cracks Down on Party Promoters in Dallas

The push to crack down on party promoters picked up steam a month ago when one person was killed and 16 others hurt in a shooting at an outdoor concert that was unauthorized. "We want people to have fun, but it can't be the wild west," said Mayor Johnson.

Digital Security Hub to Create 1,000 Jobs in Manchester 

Barclays Eagle Labs, in partnership with Plexal, Lancaster University and The University of Manchester, is launching the Digital Security Hub, a new initiative to help drive innovation and growth in Greater Manchester with an aim to support over 500 startups.

Pandemic Tempts U.S. Technology Workers Away From Silicon Valley 

Tech employment growth in most coastal areas slowed in 2020, found recent research from the Brookings Institution, even as it grew more than 20% elsewhere, from college towns such as Madison, Wisconsin, to vacation spots like Virginia Beach.
