Vacation Bible Mornings
Godly Play Stories from the Desert
Children ages 4 to 7 are invited to attend CSMSG Vacation Bible Mornings on Monday, June 7 and Tuesday, June 8 from 9 to 11:30 am. The theme of the mornings is Godly Play Stories from the Desert. Participants will learn about two stories from the Old Testament, the story of Abraham and Sarah and the Exodus.

Both stories will be presented through Godly Play, an approach based on the Montessori principle of responding to the child’s request to "help me do it by myself." This puts the teacher in the role of spiritual supporter or guide who fully accepts that each child has his or her own relationship with God already. Mary Beth Tipton, Director of Children’s Education, and Brett Rutledge, Children’s Chapel Leader, will lead children through the stories and provide a number of ways to respond to them through creative activities using painting, craft dough, yarn craft, and interacting with Godly Play manipulatives. The mornings also will include a snack, outdoor play and games, and music/movement activities.

Cost is $20 per child and registration is required. Contact Mary Beth Tipton at mtipton@csmsg.org with questions.
Parish Picnic Sunday, May 23
The CSMSG Parish Picnic returns Sunday, May 23 following the 10 am service. Join us for hot dogs and bratwurst provided by vendor Steve from Classic Red Hots, petting zoo from Zoo 4U, games and more. Don't miss Father Tom's haircut as part of the Fund Razor event. How short will he go? Your donations decide!

Children's Ministry of the Word will take place at 10 am in St. George's Chapel and children will join their parents in the church at the time of the Peace. When registering for the 10 am service, please indicate how many children will begin worship with us. Plan to attend and stay to enjoy the parish picnic!
Pentecost Sunday
On Sunday, May 23, we celebrate Pentecost, when the disciples and other Christians received the Holy Spirit Jesus promised them when he returned to heaven. Jesus asked his followers to spread the good news of Jesus and he sent the Holy Spirit to help them. You can celebrate Pentecost and show that you are among the believers by wearing red to church on Sunday.
