Digital Distractions versus Communication Collaborations

Let’s face it–technology isn’t going away. In fall 2021 we presented a two-part ToT on the digital divide that technology may cause in families. How can we embrace “hopeful technology” to support family interactions and connectivity? Join us to reflect on our own biases around technology while building strategies to meet families where they are.

FACILITATED BY:

Cori Hill is the VEIPD Center Director and Professional Development Specialist. She provides coordination and oversight for the Integrated Training Collaborative (ITC), Virginia's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) project. She has worked in the field of early intervention for over 30 years as an infant program director, educator, service coordinator and professional development provider.

Tracy WaltersMEd, ECSE, IMH-E holds a Master of Education in Early Childhood Special Education and is an Infant Mental Health Specialist. She is a team member in the Office of Child and Family Services at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services; she is the State of Virginia’s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Coordinator. Tracy has devoted 34 years of service to Early Childhood Education and Early Intervention with a focus of Mental Health for young children in the last 12 years.
