Michael was a 7th. Grade student at Hicksville Middle School when he was diagnosed with Leukemia (A.L.L.) and passed away within weeks of being diagnosed. In his memory, the Michael Magro Foundation Inc. was founded.
Families with a child battling cancer or other major illness are living in crisis. They turn to the Michael Magro Foundation when they are in need of assistance to help pay a household bill, rent, transportation medical expenses, car payments and car insurance. Our gift card program helps with gas and groceries. Our referrals come from pediatric oncology social workers who identify the families in need, they scan us the outstanding.
