Region 16 Arabians Represented at Equine Affaire Massachusetts! The Arabian breed was well represented with members from throughout Region 16 rallying to volunteer in the booth, bring horses to greet attendees and demonstrate the versatility, athleticism, and beauty of the breed. Held November 10-13 in West Springfield, MA, this premier equestrian event is an ideal opportunity to showcase our breed to those just starting their foray into the equine world as well as seasoned horsemen. There is no doubt that Arabians truly sell themselves with their eager expressions and kind demeanor.
A special thank you to Andrea Iodice and Christine Silva for your efforts to coordinate, participate and get everything ready. And to everyone who brought a horse or volunteered time in the booth, we appreciate your support!
We are already looking forward to the 2023 Equine Affaire, scheduled for November 9-12, 2023, at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA.

Region 16 at AHA Convention
Delegates and guests from Region 16 traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC for the AHA COnvention from November 9-12. This was the first in-person convention since 2019 and it was wonderful to gather to celebrate the Arabian horse, recognize contributions to the industry and partake in the activities, including voting on important resolutions.
The following delegates from Region 16 clubs were in attendance: Barbara Mitchell (AEONY), Walter Misco (AHA Massachusetts), Linda Misco (AHA Maine), Bruce Carpenter (Empire AHA), Dan Weeks (Empire AHA), Deborah Walters (FLAHA), Lance Walters (FLAHA), Julie Dugas (HVAHA), Lurline Combs (NHAHA), Rebecca Murphy (RIAHA) and Region 16 Director Cheryl Lane-Caron.
While all volunteers are deeply appreciated, a few special individuals who have gone above and beyond were recognized during the President’s Dinner for their contributions.
National Volunteer Service Award: Lurline Combs, New Hampshire AHA
Regional Volunteer Service Award: Sloane B. Roncaioli, Arabian Horse Club of CT
Regional Volunteer Service Award: Bruce Carpenter, Empire State Arabian Horse Association, Inc.
Congratulations on your well deserved achievements!
