Hello everybody!

School may be winding down, but summer reading at the library is just beginning! Come to the library on June 26th for the Registration Party. Get the scoop on everything going on this summer and find out all about volunteering at the library. Also? There will be ice cream :)

Teen Advisory Board meets for the last time this Saturday at 2pm in the Community Room. We'll be discussing summer volunteer opportunities. Stick around after the meeting to help work on our "Let's Save 1916" T-shirts. See you there!

Happy reading and writing,
Dianne

Battle of the Books 2015

Registration begins today!

In-House Battle
August 4, 6pm to 8pm
Open to grades 7 and up

It's time to gather up your team of up to 4 players for the annual Battle of the Books! Read the required 8 titles (don't worry, you can divide and conquer) to compete in the local in-house Battle on August 4. Battlers will answer trivia questions based on the 8 titles for fun and prizes. Everyone leaves with a free book! Ten lucky winners will take their place on our regional team to compete against other area libraries in September.

This year's titles are:

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (classic)
Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan (contemporary)
The Maze Runner by James Dashner (fantasy)
Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong by Prudence Shen (graphic novel)
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith (historical fiction)
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green (humor)
Down the Rabbit Hole by Peter Abrahams (mystery)
Temple Grandin by Sy Montgomery (nonfiction)

Books are available for pick up starting TODAY! Register at the Help Desk.
