Regina Families,
Next week marks the last week in high school for the Regina Class of 2024. These 52 graduates will be moving beyond the walls of Regina. They have provided leadership and served as role models to over 900 Regals while paving their own journey as seniors. We are incredibly proud of the work they have done, the ways in which they have prayed and served, and the relationships they have built. We also know that they are ready to move on beyond Regina and make an impact on the world in their next endeavors! Their stories are forever woven into the fabric of Regina and, like those who have gone before them, they are and forever will be a part of the Regina Regals.
To our seniors, we are proud of you, we will continue to pray for you and we know, Class of 2024, it is now time for you to go. To go light the world. To go make a difference!
In Christ,

PISA Needs Volunteers for Parade of Homes
Volunteers are needed to help staff the welcome table at a home for the Parade of Homes event. PISA participates in this event each year and then Parade of Homes contributes a donation to Regina PISA to benefit students participating in Arts. Click HERE to sign up for a shift - multiple days and times are available.
During the event, volunteers will be selling and punching tickets while visitors tour the house. Our volunteer location is at 4017 Unbridled Ave in Iowa City. This is a great opportunity to see the beautiful new house! You might be stationed outside, sometimes under a tent or in the garage. Each shift requires two volunteers, one of whom can be a youth, but the other must be an adult. Jr/Sr High students can earn Silver Cord hours for their participation and adults can earn school stewardship time. Thank you for considering volunteering with us!

REGINA EARLY
CHILDHOOD CENTER
NEW
In the ECC we are attempting to slow down time and enjoy all the little moments filled with laughter and joy as the end of the year is fast approaching! It has been fun enjoying the beautiful weather.
National Teacher Appreciation Day was Tuesday May 7th. We have fantastic teachers in the ECC, who dedicate extra time and energy in the classroom to ensure a safe and loving environment. An excerpt from a poem titled “A Teacher of Little Hearts” encompasses their dedication so well: “Our time together is so much more than education, it’s about connection and safety, across the room winks, inside jokes, and you-got-this squeezes, and a relationship they can count on. It’s precious and important and impactful.”
Mother’s Day Brunch was a fantastic celebration filled with delicious pastries, refreshments and fun filled crafts. The quality time with our Pre K Mom’s is precious. As Mother's Day officially approaches this weekend we send our Mom’s a huge thank you for their love and care over their students' Pre K journey. We hope you have a blessed celebration with loved ones.
Our next big event to celebrate will be Pre K Graduation on May 17th at 10:30am in the Regina High School Gymnasium with a family reception to follow in the Event Center Atrium. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Classroom Highlights:
-
Lambs- Explored their weekly theme “All about Families”. Students completed an “All About my Family” poster to display in the classroom and made a family portrait.
-
Lions - Earned their Popcorn Party! Worked on measuring insects to make a graph and painted their own fingerprint bugs.
-
Doves - Began their study about insects and bugs by making clothespin dragonflies and butterflies.
-
Eagles- Watched their caterpillars form chrysalis’ and made tissue paper butterflies, as well as a caterpillar into butterfly craft!

Warm Weather Note: To prepare for sunny afternoons, if you have a specific sunscreen that you would like your student to wear, we kindly ask you to make sure to send it with your student with their name labeled on the bottle. We will be using sunscreen for students when the UV is at 5 or above and also when we see best fit for specific student’s needs. We have extra sunscreen available in the center too!
Best wishes over your Mother’s Day weekend!
Questions? Please message our ECC team on Procare with any questions or concerns, or contact the Early Childhood Center Director, Michala Cox at michala.cox@regina.org or Asst. Director Abbe Altman at abbe.altman@regina.org.
