Regina Families,

A Blessed Triduum and Happy Easter to all!

On this Good Friday, we journey through Christ’s passion. Students will pray together today and reflect on the Stations of the Cross. We cannot arrive at the celebration of the resurrection and the excitement of Easter without Good Friday. Take time tonight on this most holy and somber day to talk and to listen at home to your children. As adults we make this journey every year and we know the story. Students present a wonderful opportunity to reflect on Christ’s passion with fresh insight.

On Sunday, may you all celebrate a joyful Easter! For those spending time with egg hunts and family meals, take the time to plan your festivities and time around attending mass as a family. The return to joyful music and Alleluias is a welcome one! As is said with the Easter proclamation: Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

In Christ,

REGINA EARLY

CHILDHOOD CENTER

NEW

We have made it to the last week of March! It is starting to feel like the change of season to Spring is finally happening with some rain and even a little cold weather. We luckily had some windows of time to make it outside for some fresh air.

Classroom Highlights:

  • The Eagles painted watercolor crosses that are hung up in the ECC hallway and discussed the importance of celebrating Easter.
  • The Doves & Lions worked hard all week building their own personal robots made out of a collection of recyclable items.
  • The Lambs learned all about spring and Easter this week for fun crafts they made glitter easter eggs and a soft cotton ball sheep.

Please make sure to check your child’s mailbox or cubby for your student’s upcoming classroom calendar and newsletter.

During the month of April we have two Spring events where we will be traveling from the ECC for field trips - the Iowa Children’s Museum and Oaknoll East for a service project. Please check out your child’s classroom calendar and newsletter to confirm those dates. If you would like to attend either of these field trips, add your name to the sign up list outside of your child’s classroom or let Michala know.

We can’t wait to share all the joy and excitement for upcoming Spring events happening at the center during the month of April. We are wishing you a blessed time celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ this Easter weekend.

Important ECC Dates in March

March 29th: Good Friday - Center Dismissal at 12pm

Questions? Please contact the Early Childhood Center Director, Michala Cox at michala.cox@regina.org or Asst. Director Abbe Altman at abbe.altman@regina.org.

Holy Thursday Prayer Service

Thank you to the 5th grade classes for leading the Regina Elementary Holy Thursday Prayer Service.

Yesterday we commemorated the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, during which he washed the feet of his disciples. The washing of the feet, in Catholic tradition, symbolizes humility and service, mirroring Jesus' act of washing the feet of his disciples as an example of servant leadership. It signifies the call for Christians to serve one another with love and humility, following the example set by Jesus.
