Rediscover the Fun No Sweat Soirée!


Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,


As we seek the welfare of the city around us, we are thankful for the opportunity to offer a fun and fabulous event again this year that will allow us to share with our ministry partners - Church Health, Carpenter Art Garden, MIFA and Room in the Inn-Memphis! 


Our annual No Sweat Soirée is coming August 10 from 9am-11am and you won't want to miss this opportunity to come together as a parish family to support our partners! We do not ignore that needs in our community are great. St. George’s is once again supporting local ministries, with our unique twist. We will be offering online goods and services for sale, a drive-thru wine and whiskey and gift card pull, and ‘need a hand~no sweat’ goods, food and services we can all use.  


These four ministry partners are on the frontline - serving the most vulnerable in our community every day. Church Health continues to grow, expand and open more services to help residents of the Mid-South. Carpenter Art Garden serves young children and youth in the Binghampton Area through art, education and vocational training. MIFA is still feeding hungry seniors and working to rehouse families left without shelter. And Room in the Inn-Memphis has opened a day respite center where neighbors experiencing homelessness are able to come in from the heat a couple of days each week. This is our way of showing support to these ministry partners at a time when support is so very much needed - while "getting together" ourselves during this time that we are physically apart!


HERE IS HOW WE ALL PARTICIPATE

Through the generous support of people like you, St. George’s will continue to lend a hand to our Ministry Partners with this year’s No Sweat Soirée.


There are different ways to support and participate in our St. George’s No Sweat Soirée: 1) Sponsorships, 2) Wine donations $20+ AND Whiskey donations $40+, 3) Gift Certificates $25+, 4) Goods, Food & Services. Tickets and sign-ups will be available at the church website beginning August 1st. 


Sponsorships

We love our sponsors! Your sponsorship helps defray the costs of the Soirée, increasing the financial support that St. George’s is able to provide our Ministry Partners. And it’s easy! You can arrange for your Sponsorship through the church website, or via emailing or calling Eileen Fields at eileen@stgeorgesgermantown.org or 901-754-7282 (leave a message if the office is closed).

 

The No Sweat Soirée Sponsorship opportunities are:


  • Platinum $1,000 - recognition on website and all communication media as a title sponsor.
  • Gold $750 - recognition on website and all communication media
  • Silver $500 - recognition on website and all communication media
  • Bronze $300 - recognition on website 
  • Friend $150 - listing on website 
  • Contributor $50 - our sincere thanks


Wine Donations for our Wine & Whiskey Pull


We will be offering $15 tickets for $20 (and up) retail value bottles of wine (no bag required). If you’re not sure of the value of the wine(s) you are donating, we will be happy to check it using the VIVINO and/or Delectable App. If you are a wine lover, be sure to buy tickets because some high-value wines have already been donated! If you have a high dollar bottle of wine you would like to contribute, we would love to have that too.

 

We will also be offering $30 tickets for $40 (and up) retail value bottles of whiskey (no bag required). This is always a unique group of whiskeys that are donated by church members and local spirit shops. These are not party size bottles. If you have a whiskey you love, then by all means share it with us!


Gift Certificates for our Gift Certificate Pull


We will be offering $20 tickets for $25 (and up) retail value gift certificates. We need a wide variety so think of what you might like to receive and donate a few! If you love surprises, be sure to purchase tickets because this category is peppered with goodies. Tickets will be available at the church website beginning July 1st. 


No Sweat! – Goods, Food & Services for Sale


We will be offering a variety of goods, food and services, so we need your talents donated in this area. Some ideas include handmade items, gift baskets, babysitting, technology help, home baked goods, dinners to go, etc. We will sell it for the price you set and connect you with the buyer. We also offer the opportunity to pick up a recipe and pan and make specific favored items from Arcade years past to put up for sale on our website.


How and Where to Drop-Off donations of gift cards, wine, whiskey, and sponsor forms

We will begin accepting donations June 16 - August 10. On Sundays, donations may be left on the designated cart in the Narthex during all services. Weekdays please use the front Church Office door (Garth side) You will see a cart just inside the door with a form (as below) that we need filled out for a record of your donation. Thank you!

More Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to assist in other ways too. We are still looking for a Vice Chairperson to train into event leadership. We also need volunteers to fetch items when people call with donations for pickup. And for those of you that have time to devote to the internet, we need people to apply for donations online at corporate websites (ex: Jason’s Deli). If you don’t ask, you don’t get!!!
