November is a great month to reflect and reposition. It is the home stretch of the year at hand, a time to honor my decisions and redirect my energy. I love to imagine 2023 from a place of choice and power. So, I get to decide today what has worked well this year so that I can lean into my successes and wins for guidance in setting goals and in redirecting expectations in life and business management for next year. I use November to recap and reimagine 2022 from a place of gratitude and self-leadership. It is easy to follow my dreams, but what is harder is to lead and direct them. November is the month in which I ask and answer the following questions.

What did I get to do this year?

What were my wins?

What is important to me right now?

What boundaries are non-negotiable?

One year from now, what do I want to be able to say that I accomplished?

What will I say NO to so that I can say YES to what excites and delights?

It is in November that I begin to say goodbye to the year at hand, to say NO to what was, especially to what did not go as planned! It is in November that I begin to welcome in the new year and all the fresh possibility and opportunity it brings to me when I remember to acknowledge, and act on it! It is in November that I give thanks to those I love, to my friends, and clients, and business network. It is in November that I honor and celebrate myself because as another year wraps another chapter unfolds.

Redirecting “NO” VEMBER permits change. It separates what is working from what is not. It re-energizes goals and bucket lists, and it fine-tunes what I can control. It is from November that I reposition growth, that I say YAY or NAY to what I most want. I clean off the canvas, edit what I want to impact, and commit to what’s next. I jump-start the holidays by creating fresh takes on happiness and by aligning a 2023 version of myself that speaks to the moment, the opportunity, and my next chapter.

Do This Now:

1.    Decide what you DO NOT WANT. I find that is often easier to create boundaries around what you do not want FIRST and then address what you do want. When I know what I don’t want, I can get a clearer sense of what I do desire.

2.    Reflect, pause, and re-organize. As a recent workshop attendee of mine surmised, “you need to sleep before you can dream.” Truth! Use the month of November to re-access and reboot for the next 13 months!

3.    Revamp your power. Even your shadow leaves you in the dark of night, so understand what you can control, and own those choices. ,Reinvest in what each 24-hour window enables you to do and understand. Saying NO allows you to reclaim what you want to say OK to, and it puts you in the driver’s seat in all aspects of your life…in the dark…and in the light!

With gratitude,

Randi
