3rd Sunday of Easter (A) | Apr 26, 2020
Dear Students,

I wish you a Happy Easter once more as we continue to celebrate the Easter Season. I enjoyed seeing a few of you during our Sunday hang out time (see info below) last week, for a little impromptu Credo Q&A session. I was able to take a few questions about prayer, sacraments, and the faith, as well as renew our friendship in Christ by seeing your smiling faces. I encourage any who can to take advantage of these hang out times and the virtual Bible studies (links below) to continue to stay connected.

As we approach the busy "pre-exam" time at the end of the semester, it's important to stay grounded in what it truly important. To that end, I focused this week on the basic practices of mental prayer in our YouTube videos. I hope these short primers are helpful to you in maintaining your prayer life at home. If there is anything you would like to see me talk about in future videos, please let me know! I'm always open to suggestions.

I have also created a new playlist of videos on our YouTube channel of "Recommended Watching" from other YouTube content providers. These are videos that I personally recommend, touching on a wide variety of topics pertaining to the faith, including prayer, morality, Catholic history, scripture, holiday traditions, and a few odd topics I hope you find of interest. Enjoy!

As always, know of my prayers for you and please do not hesitate to reach out by phone, text or email if you need to connect.

In Christ's Peace,
Deacon Matt
This Sunday
The gospel reading this Sunday tells of the encounter of the disciples on the road to Emmaus with the Risen Christ, who first breaks open the scriptures to them and is finally recognized by them "in the breaking of the bread." In this week's reflection, Deacon Matt talks about what this means for us in how we recognize Jesus' presence among us in the sacraments, especially in the Eucharist.

We are getting creative with how to say farewell to our graduating seniors this year. We will be having a special Baccalaureate Mass for the graduates on Sunday, May 3, at 4:00 pm , celebrated by Fr. Coleman in the CCM Chapel of Our Lady of the Annunciation, and live streamed on our Facebook Page.

We are also planning a "Virtual Senior Send-Off" on Zoom - date and time to be announced. If you have photos or stories to share about any of our graduating seniors, you are invited to share them to this Google doc . Stay tuned for more information!
