About the Program

Digital assets and blockchain technology constitute an exciting new sector of the economy. But with innovation inevitably comes legal disputes, including governmental regulatory enforcement and private litigation. In this program, we first provide a brief overview of digital assets, including their history and how the technology works. Then, we describe some of the most notable government enforcement actions in the digital assets space, including the actions taken against Ripple, Coinbase, and more. Finally, we discuss some common areas of private digital assets litigation, including some of the recurring theories and themes we see in those cases.
