Attend the Montgomery County Accessory Dwelling Unit Policy Forum

On January 19 at 10 A.M. Montgomery County Councilmember Hans Riemer will be holding a community forum on Accessory Dwelling Units, or ADUs.

This event will take place in Rockville at the Council Office Building (100 Maryland Avenue) in the 3rd floor hearing room.

Montgomery County’s current zoning code is restrictive towards ADUs. The Council plans to look at ADU policy in order to help increase the number of desirable housing options available.

If you are interested in ADUs and/or affordable housing policy and want to help shape the reforms the Council will explore, please attend the community forum and participate.

You can RSVP to the January 19 community forum here .

Federal Government Shutdown - Update
What a Government Shutdown Means for REALTORS®

As of midnight on December 21, 2018, the President and Congress were unable to agree on the provisions of a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the federal government.

As a result, a partial shutdown of some government operations has occurred. This partial shutdown includes some federal housing, mortgage, and other programs of interest to the real estate industry. A summary of the impact on selected agencies is provided below.

While this is a very politically dynamic event, NAR staff continue to monitor federal agencies and work with Congress, the Administration, and other groups to assess ongoing impacts to NAR members and their businesses. For a full breakdown of the shutdown's impact, read NAR's update here .
