I am very excited to be joined Tuesday night on My Baby Experts web TV show by the one of America's top Pediatricians and Baby Nutrition experts, Dr Alan Greene ( DrGreene.com)!
He asks a very important question - "Would you feed your baby a spoonful of white sugar for their 1st bite of food?"
Of course you wouldn't!! But, according to Dr Greene, one of the first solid foods approximately 98% of our babies receive is white rice cereal. Although it is labeled "cereal" and is dressed up with a few vitamins and minerals, it is processed white flour, and to a baby's metabolism it is about the same as a spoonful of sugar?! And with 1 out of every 3 children statistically facing diabetes in their future, this is very concerning!
Joe and I did NOT know this when we raised our two daughters, we wish we did!
The good news is Dr Greene has a solution, a movement he created called "White Out Now", and I am so glad we get to share it with you!
