The State of Supportive Housing
The Network released the State of Supportive Housing – a comprehensive overview of the statewide supportive housing landscape. The report includes the number of existing units, types (congregate, scattered site), programs available, populations served, geographic distribution (by region and county), and financial structure/rates, alongside a concise history and case studies featuring six supportive housing programs.

FY 2025 New York State Budget Passes
The New York State FY 2025 budget was signed by the Governor on April 20th It continues the state's full commitment to the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative, a 15-year plan to develop 20,000 units of supportive housing. The budget also continues funding for year three of the five-year affordable housing plan to create and preserve 100,000 affordable homes – including funds to preserve supportive housing.

Mayor Adams Releases FY 25 Executive Budget
On Wednesday, April 24th, Mayor Adams released the FY 25 Executive Budget, totaling $111.6 billion, which is a $2 billion increase over the FY 25 Preliminary Budget. This accounts for a projected revenue increase of $2.3 billion.

RUPCO Breaks Ground on Silver Gardens
On April 18th, RUPCO joined project partners and elected officials to break ground on their new project, Silver Gardens. Once complete this new affordable/supportive building will bring 57 new affordable apartments, including 29 supportive for seniors experiencing or at risk of homelessness, in the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County. On-site services are provided by RUPCO and funded through the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the New York State Department of Health.

Community Housing Innovations Breaks Ground on Mt. Hope Plaza
On April 12th, Community Housing Innovations and the Mt. Hope Community Development Corporation joined project partners and elected officials to break ground on a new affordable/supportive housing residence, Mt. Hope Plaza in White Plains. When complete, Mt. Hope Plaza will create 56 affordable apartments, including 20 supportive for seniors experiencing homelessness.

In May the Network testified at three City Council Executive Budget hearings held jointly with the Committee on Finance: Committees on General Welfare on May 6th, Health, Mental Health Disabilities and Addiction on May 13th, and Housing and Buildings on May 14th.

The Network Hosts a State of Supportive Housing Legislative Briefing
On May 21st, the Network held a legislative briefing in Albany on its first-of-its-kind report -- the State of Supportive Housing – which revealed that the State’s earliest service funding stream NYSSHP provides a fraction of the funding of modern supportive housing.

Joanne Oplustil Retires from CAMBA
The Network extends its heartfelt well wishes to Joanne M. Oplustil on her recently announced retirement and resignation from the Network Board of Directors on which she has served for an impressive 14 years.
