City and State New York Honors Network Executive Director and Members

On August 12th, City and State New York released their inaugural Above & Beyond: Social Services list to gain new appreciation for the talented and dedicated individuals powering New York’s human-centered agencies. The Network’s Executive Director, Pascale Leone was recognized as an exemplary leader dedicated to serving vulnerable New Yorkers. Pascale’s profile is spotlighted HERE. Network member agency leaders were also honored.

Tompkins Community Action Opens Asteri Ithaca

On August 13th, Tompkins Community Action and the Vecino Group joined elected officials and project partners for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Asteri Ithaca. This new affordable and supportive housing residence and 55,000 square-foot conference center includes 181 new affordable apartments, including 40 supportive in downtown Ithaca. Support services are provided by Tompkins Community Action funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) and administered through the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance.

New Destiny Housing Opens Highgarden Tower


On July 25th, New Destiny Housing joined elected officials, community and project partners, to celebrate the opening of Highgarden Tower in New Rochelle. This new affordable and supportive housing residence is creating 219 new affordable apartments, 77 of which are supportive for survivors of domestic violence from Westchester County. On-site services are provided by New Destiny Housing funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) through the NYS Office of Temporary Disability and Assistance (OTDA).

Housing Works and Hudson Companies

Break Ground on The Lirio

On July 17th, partners and electeds gathered to break ground on Housing Works’ and The Hudson Companies new supportive and affordable housing residence in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen, the Lirio. The 112- unit building will provide 100% affordable housing including 67 supportive units with the rest of the units being reserved for a mix of individuals with incomes ranging from 30% AMI to 120%. The building is being built on MTA property and will provide office space for the agency. Onsite supportive services will be provided by Housing Works funded by the NYC 15/15 initiative through the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Community Services for Every1 Opens

The Apartments at The Lyceum

On July 12th Community Services for Every1 (CSE1) joined elected officials and community and project partners for the grand opening of The Apartments at the Lyceum. This new affordable and supportive housing residence created 42 affordable apartments, including 12 apartments for survivors of domestic violence, 5 fully ADA accessible units, and 2 units for individuals with audio/visual impairments in Buffalo. Services will be provided by Community Services for Every1 funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the NYS Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA).

East House Opens Canal Street Commons

On June 27th, East House joined project partners and elected officials to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Canal Street Common, which is bringing 123 new affordable apartments, 70 which are supportive, to Rochester, New York. On-site services are provided by East House and funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative administered by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH).
