Governor
Walker Signs
Senate
Bill 198
|
|
Move allows vehicles with anti-idling technology, CNG fueling systems to further exceed weight limits
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on November
30 signed
into law Senate Bill 198. The bill, authored by state Sen. Jerry Petrowski (R, Marathon) and state Rep. John Spiros (R, Marshfield), increases the amount by which vehicles equipped with idle reduction technology or fueled by compressed natural gas may exceed statutory weight limits.
The previous law allowed an exceedance of 400 pounds for vehicles with idle reduction technology. The new law allows for exceedances of up to 550 pounds. The bill also provides that vehicles fueled primarily by natural gas may exceed statutory weight limits by an amount equal to the difference between the weight of the natural gas fuel system and a comparable diesel fuel system or 2,000 pounds, whichever is less.

and 24/7 roadside assistance.
