The Nomination Committee Presents Slate of Officers
It is with great excitement that we announce the candidates for ITGA's Board of Directors beginning July 1, 2021. The Nominating Committee received many applications and it was a very competitive process. After much consideration, the Committee put forward the following names (see below) to serve as Board of Directors. We are asking the lead person on each membership account to cast their vote for the slate of officers. This person will receive a follow-up email with directions on how to vote. The ballot will be open during the ITGA Conference beginning May 24 and will close on May 26. The work of the 2020-2021 Nominations Committee in recruiting candidates and stewarding applications through the nominations process is greatly appreciated. This is a time-intensive procedure that involves a great deal of thoughtful study and identification of future leaders for the ITGA.

Free Hand Sanitizer to Every HBCU Nationwide

Savannah, GA: Savannah State University (SSU) announced plans to give free hand sanitizer to the every Historically Black College or University (HBCU) community nationwide. SSU says each HBCU will receive enough hand sanitizer for their entire student population. The gift was made possible from an alumni donation to the school. Cyrus Jackson contributed an in-kind donation to his alma mater valued over $1.5 million designated for the College of Business Administration. SSU says more than 75,000 bottles of Dr. Hobbs Sanitizer have been shipped to more than 30 HBCUs. SSU says more shipments occur daily. WSAV.com

Ivey, City of Guelph to Unlock Food waste
Guelph, ON: Studies show Canadian farmers, manufacturers and retailers waste 60 per cent of the food they produce and process. But where there is waste, there is opportunity. An innovative partnership between the Ivey Business School and Guelph-Wellington’s ‘Our Food Future’ project will investigate how businesses can create opportunities from waste and establish effective circular supply chains. Led by Jury Gualandris, professor at the Ivey Business School at Western University and Ivey’s Centre for Building Sustainable Value, this cross-sector partnership hopes to advance the circular food economy in the Guelph-Wellington region.
