Iowa City May Have Been Undercounted
Iowa City, IA: Iowa City Manager Geoff Fruin believes Iowa City's population was undercounted in the 2020 Census, but still called it "really robust growth" for the city, much higher than the previous two decades. "It is the equivalent of adding a small town or two into our community," he said. The Iowa City metro area, which includes Johnson and Washington counties, also ranks among the fastest-growing in the Midwest. Iowa City Press Citizen

College Announces COVID Student Debt Relief
Edison, NJ: Middlesex College is implementing a new Student Debt Amnesty program to forgive approximately $1.8 million of qualified student balances incurred during the pandemic, impacting nearly 2,300 students. Under the program, all current outstanding balances incurred from March of 2020 through the summer of 2021 will be forgiven, providing students the flexibility to enroll for a future term. TapIntoNet
UArizona Joins ASU, NAU in Campus Mask Requirement
Phoenix, AZ: All three Arizona universities said Wednesday they are going to require face masks on campus in certain situations, regardless of new state legislation apparently designed to preclude them from doing that. The new policy first announced by Arizona State University mandates the use of face coverings in classrooms, teaching or research labs as well as "close-quarter environments where physical distancing may not be possible."
