Rate Meeting presentations continue, Webinar registration opens
|
IMRF's series of Employer Rate Meetings continues until May 3, 2016. Taking place in locations throughout the state, the Rate Meetings will review the impact of year-end financial and actuarial data on IMRF, and the data's estimated impact on individual employers.
Employers unable to attend a Rate Meeting in their area have an online opportunity to obtain the meeting's relevant information during the 2016 Employer Rate Meeting webinar. Registration is now open for the webinar, taking place Thursday, May 12.

). Authorized Agents, financial officers, governing body members, and interested parties are encouraged to register here for the Rate Meeting webinar program.

GASB 68 Plan Statements issued
|
Each employer's GASB 68 plan statement for December 31, 2015, has been issued through Employer Access.
Established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), GASB 68 was introduced to improve accounting and financial reporting on pensions by government entities. IMRF participating employers that report using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are required to follow rules established by GASB.
To view your employer's statement(s):
- Log in to your Employer Access account
- Go to "Document Archive"
- Choose the "EFINANCE" category
- Select the appropriate document type:
-
GASB68R is the Regular plan statement
- GASB68S is the SLEP plan statement
- GASB68E is the ECO plan statement
If your employer offers more than one IMRF plan, there will be a separate GASB 68 statement for each plan in Employer Access.

SOC-1 Type 2 Report released
|
Employers reporting according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) recently received a copy of IMRF's SOC-1, Type 2 Report for the period January 1, 2015, through March 31, 2016. The report, required by some IMRF employers for financial reporting purposes, was distributed to affected employers in a message dated April 22 within IMRF's Secure Message Center.
In the report, independent auditors examined and verified the adequacy of IMRF's internal controls. Employers that received the Secure Message are advised to download and share the document with their organization's business manager and financial officer
.
For those employers that did not receive the document by Secure Message, the SOC-1, Type 2 Report will be posted in Employer Access in early May for all employers to download.

Authorized Agent Certification Workshops, held in various locations across the state, provide Authorized Agents and other employer representatives opportunities to learn more about IMRF procedures, changes to the Illinois Pension Code, employer tasks necessary to administer IMRF, and much more
