Cedar Lake– Following Congressman Frank Mrvan's vote against H.R. 8281- the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, designed to prevent non-citizens from voting in federal elections, Randy Niemeyer, Lake County Councilman and Republican Nominee for U.S. Congress in Indiana's First District issued the following statement:
"Today, the House passed a crucial bill to ban non-citizens from voting in federal elections, a measure essential for preserving our democratic republic. Shockingly, Congressman Frank Mrvan voted against it, showing utter disregard for the sanctity of our electoral process. Mrvan's vote is a betrayal of every American citizen, siding with non-citizens over his own constituents. This disgraceful act exposes his allegiance to the far left of his party over the citizens of the 1st District.
"Northwest Indiana deserves a representative who prioritizes American citizens and protects our values. As your next congressman, I will fight relentlessly for our republic and the rights of American voters. Our democracy is not up for debate, and it's time to send Frank Mrvan packing,” stated Niemeyer.
