PAA FEATURED IN "COMMUNITY FOCUS"

We were delighted to be featured last week in "Community Focus"! Watch Greg Canda, president of the PAA board, speak with Community Focus executive director Mary Kidd about our classes, gallery, special exhibits, community partnerships, our 20th anniversary, and a few upcoming events. Click to see the video!

RAMP UP PENINSULA: SAT, APRIL 27

Join us for another fun Open House during the Ramp Up Peninsula festival this Saturday, April 27. What's a ramp? An elegant wild-growing plant in the leek-onion-garlic family that sprouts beautifully in the woods around Peninsula each spring. (And yes, those ARE ramps pictured in the headers for this newsletter; thanks for noticing.)

Stroll the village of Peninsula and enjoy ramp-themed food and drinks, special presentations and plant walks, craft vendors, and more. At PAA, we'll have art demos, a children's activity, and our beautiful art glass show on display in the gallery. Come see instructor Logan Finley previewing his TINY ART: 3-INCH COLLAGE workshop and Peggy Cooper demonstrating her SILK SCARF PAINTING technique. Peggy will also be showing some of the projects kids can make in her WIZARD ACADEMY summer art camp.

GLASS SHOW: HOT IN PENINSULA

Thanks to everyone who came out for the artists' reception on Saturday for our new gallery exhibit, Hot in Peninsula: Handmade Glass by Regional Artists. What an amazing turnout! This exhibit features invited work by regional glass artists created at temperatures above 1350 degrees, including flameworked glass, enameling, blown and fused glass, sculptural pieces, vessels, wall hangings, decorative objects, and more, and it will run through May 26 during regular business hours (Thurs 12-3pm, Fri-Sun 11am-5pm).

DO YOU LIKE ART? AND PEOPLE?  As a nonprofit, we rely on volunteers and are a bit short-staffed right now, so we are looking for friendly volunteer Gallery Associates to help in the gallery (greeting and assisting customers, ringing up purchases, etc.). Interested in volunteering? Stop by the gallery, email us at peninsulaartacademy@gmail.com, or fill out an online Volunteer Interest Form here. We'd love to hear from you!

The Peninsula Art Academy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization promoting the arts in the Village of Peninsula and throughout northeast Ohio. We offer art classes, workshops, a fine arts gallery with rotating exhibits, working artist studios, and a retail gallery featuring works in all mediums by dozens of local and regional artists. We are always looking for new instructors, who receive payment for their classes.

See us at peninsulaartacademy.org. Please call during regular business hours (Thursday 12-3pm and Friday-Sunday 11am-5 pm) at (330) 657-2248. If you leave a message, please be patient, as our gallery is run completely by volunteers. Email us any time at peninsulaartacademy@gmail.com.
