There will be no MRW luncheon in July.

Next luncheon: August 7

Action alert!

We are NOT just "ladies who lunch." We are involved and ready to fight against the Left! And you can make a phone call TODAY to right a wrong!

Representative Thomas Massie proposed a solution to stop Steve Bannon (conservative warrior who was our guest speaker at last year's Lincoln Reagan Dinner) from going to prison. Bannon was sentenced to prison for noncompliance with a subpoena from the sham House committee investigating J6, an act he defended by citing President Trump’s assertion of executive privilege.

Massie's plan urges Speaker Mike Johnson to rescind the congressional subpoena issued against Bannon and to formally disavow what he refers to as the “J6 witch hunt.”

Read more about it here.

Call or text Speaker Mike Johnson now: 202-225-2777. (Leave a message)

You can also contact our own representative, Richard Hudson, at 202-225-3715, and urge him to encourage Speaker Johnson to take action.

Highlights of the June luncheon

MRW's June luncheon focused on crime - and hope for redemption - in Moore County.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields detailed the activities of each of his departments. He said that thanks to Biden's disastrous border policies, Moore County has seen an influx of illegal immigrants, plus a major increase in drug trafficking, including fentanyl. However, his excellent team works well together and is doing everything possible to contain the threats. He also promised that his officers would recognize Scottie Scheffler on sight during the US Open.

Kym Nixon, founder of Changing Destinies, talked about the problem of sex trafficking. Her daughter, Brooke Autry, shared her story as someone who was trafficked, how she escaped, and what you can do to watch out for it. You can view her presentation here: Brooke's presentation.

MRW presented a check for $1,000 to help Changing Destinies get off the ground in Southern Pines, and members donated an additional $800 through our June Collection. The donations purchased kitchen supplies.

Support for President Trump was enthusiastic!

As always, MRW members, associates and guests enjoy getting together to share political views, hear important information about local happenings, and - yes - have fun!

Ways & Means results

Following are the funds you helped us raise at the May luncheon:

MRW Basket (a festive summer cornucopia with wine - what could be better?): $180. Patricia Breslin was the winner.

Split the Pot: $95. New member Mary Murphrey won $47.50.

"Right Wing Bling": $133.

2nd Movie Night an inspiration

On Monday, June 3, the MC GOP, MRW and the MC Republican Men's Club hosted another in their Moore Campaign Theater Series. This time, the movie featured was "Letter to the American Church," a film based on a book by Eric Metaxas.

This powerful video sent a chilling message about the passivity of churches in the US, similar to what happened in Germany during the rise of Hitler. NC Representative Neal Jackson put on his "pastor hat" and helped facilitate a discussion with Pastor Tom Kakadelis (NC Family Policy Council) and Pastor Jim Thyne (Christ Fellowship Church), who responded to questions from the audience.

It was an eye-opening experience - and ultimately inspiring.

This event sold out early. Stay tuned for information about the next in this popular new series!

Thanks to volunteers for Adopt A Road clean-up

Many thanks to these volunteers for picking up trash along Airport Road near Whispering Pines. It's part of MRW's commitment to the environment, and their help was much appreciated.

(L to R: Carol Wheeldon, Jim Thyne, Pat Pizzella, Charli Thyne, Lynn Goldhammer, and MRW Photographer Mary Flynn (not pictured for obvious reasons).

Next clean-up: Monday, September 9.
