October is Bullying Prevention Month
Bullying is a pervasive and distressing issue that affects countless individuals, particularly children and adolescents, causing emotional and psychological harm that can last a lifetime. In response to this problem, October is designated as Bullying Prevention Month, a time for individuals, communities, schools, and organizations to come together to raise awareness about bullying and take action to prevent it.
Bullying prevention in children is extremely important as bullying can have lasting and severe consequences on a child’s well-being, mental health, and overall development. Addressing this issue effectively requires a multi-faceted approach that involves parents, schools, and communities.
Rainbow Days’ Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG®) Program encourages children and youth to treat one another like they would want to be treated. The Major Message – I CAN Treat Others Like I Want to be Treated encourages youth to act kindly towards one another. A good way to practice treating others like we want to be treated is by not bullying each other.
Bullying prevention is a collective effort and by fostering awareness, teaching empathy, and providing a supportive environment, we can help children grow up in a world where bullying is not tolerated. A world where children and youth’s physical and emotional well-being is protected.
Join us this month to learn more about how you can help prevent bullying! Be sure and check out the Resource Connection section for links to additional information and activities to help promote bullying prevention.
With Kindness,
The Rainbow Days Training Team
