Dear Parents,
Today the students and staff of St. Jude participated in a prayer service and adoration. As we draw closer to Thanksgiving feasts with our family and friends, we wanted to take some special time to recognize how closely Thanksgiving relates to this year’s theme “All Who Hunger.'' Aside from the obvious reference to coming together for food, we reflected on the gift of the Eucharist as well. The word Eucharist, means "Thanksgiving". This is so fitting when paired with a holiday focused on filling ourselves with food, family, and friends. Because it is the Eucharist which gives us the nourishment we need for our hearts and souls to be fulfilled.
Jesus said “I am the bread of life, all who come to me shall never hunger, and all who believe in me will never thirst.”
I know that the holidays can be a busy time, but I would challenge anyone who is able to try to add the Eucharist to their Thanksgiving tradition this year. St. Jude will have a Thanksgiving mass at 9am this Thursday for those who are able to attend.
When you are at mass this weekend, take a close look at some of the artwork from our Kindergarten students that is displayed near both of the main doors at church. We are so grateful for their inspiring pieces to keep us focused on the Eucharistic Revival as a parish.
God Bless,
Mrs. Meece
