Hello Friends,

This time of year, as vibrant leaves cover the ground, our hearts at Rebuilding Together Montgomery County are filled with gratitude. I want to reflect on the bountiful support and kindness that has sustained our mission throughout the year due to your unwavering dedication whether it be through donations, volunteer hours, or trusting us with repairs in your home. Through everything, we recognize that your support is the heartbeat of our vision for safe and healthy homes and communities for all. Thank you and as always, we continue to focus on our mission: Repairing Homes, Revitalizing Communities, Rebuilding Lives.

Our home repairs and accessibility modifications are going strong into the end of the year. I am happy to report we have completed repairs for 72 homeowners and their families so far this fiscal year. All of this work is made possible by our wonderful board and hard-working staff: Christina Devlin, Mat Saunders, Gabby Garcia, Vivian Bacarezza Navarro, Yelena Espinoza, Becky Shank, Elyssa Diamond, Sasha Agwah, Karen Kozopas, Kim Cameron, and Shelby Badger.

A special thanks to our board for providing a $2,500 match to our Giving Tuesday campaign and to all of those who contributed. If you didn't get a chance to join in on Giving Tuesday, we're always accepting donations on our website.

We're looking forward to hosting a Fall She Builds on December 7th, which is a women-led and women-focused effort aimed at empowering women to maintain safe and healthy homes. Thank you to our presenting sponsor Whiting-Turner for helping make the project possible!

Two New HVAC Systems Courtesy of Wells Fargo

Thanks to a generous grant from Wells Fargo, we were able to install two new HVAC systems in deserving homes. One unit went to a female led household of 4 that includes a child with a disability and the other was installed in a multigenerational home of 7. Previously enduring temperatures without proper heating or cooling, these families can now embrace safety and comfort as they prepare for the upcoming winter season. Thank you, Wells Fargo!

Veteran Appreciation

It was through the kindness of his friend and fellow Marine Corps veteran, Mr. S., that RTMC got involved after he noticed that 97-year-old Mr. R. was having some difficulty navigating his home. RTMC transformed his bathroom from a tub to a shower and installed two chairlifts for his split level stairs, and a ramp ensuring that his home is a safe and accessible space.

We're happy that Mr. R. is moving around his home more easily. He reported, "my knees give out and the stairlifts are making it much easier" and that he is now able to do more things on his own, like his laundry. We’re incredibly fortunate to provide modifications for a homeowner who is such an incredible and friendly person.

Our wonderful AmeriCorps Community Project Coordinator, Becky, has been working hard on outreach to our community and at a resource fair hosted by the American Legion with Director of Development, Kim, met US Congressman Jamie Raskin! It was wonderful to meet our District 8 champion and we greatly appreciate his support of our mission.
