Celebrates & Benefits

Childhelp Mission

Childhelp exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children. They focus their efforts on advocacy, prevention, treatment and community outreach.

Indian Wells Chapter Mission

Childhelp Foster Family & Adoption Program

The Childhelp Foster Care program has been able to make a large impact in providing short and longterm therapeutic foster care to abused and neglected children. Childhelp’s Foster Family and Adoption Programs of California have connected loving families with children by actively recruiting, certifying, and training foster/adoptive families in Southern California and we are actively seeking foster families in the Coachella Valley. We work to match children in need with warm, loving families who can provide a caring and safe environment. We are licensed to recruit, screen, train, and certify foster care parents.

In addition, Childhelp provides ongoing support to both resource parents and the children in their care to ensure a successful and long-term relationship. It’s our chapter mission to help foster children we serve and find a forever home where they can meet their full potential.

CALIFORNIA PROGRAMS

Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe

The Indian Wells Chapter goal is to provide prevention education classes to every child in the Coachella Valley free of charge to the school and children. We have already provided over 6,000 children in the Coachella Valley Unified School District with the Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe program and plan to continue. The program is an evidenced-based curriculum program with developmentally appropriate lessons for prekindergarten through 12th grade to help students prevent, interrupt, and speak up about various types of child abuse - physical, emotional, sexual, neglect, bullying, and cyberabuse.

Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline

1-800-4-A-Child (1-800-422-4453)

The hotline is available 24/7 by phone, text, and live chat and serves the United States, Canada, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Staffed exclusively with qualified professional crisis counselors, this confidential service offers crisis intervention, support, information, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. The hotline, through translators, can assist in over 170 languages. It has given assistance to more than 2 million help-seekers.
