Q3 2024

OUR PURPOSE

The RPA is established for the purpose of providing superior leadership and fostering the awareness of innovative technology through comprehensive educational activities, products, codes and standards, and public awareness initiatives. In addition, the RPA will serve as a clearinghouse of experience, ideas, and information to further the objectives and sustain interest on behalf of the RPA membership.

FROM THE TECHNICAL DESK

Alliance Members,

Welcome to another quarter of 2024! It's been a productive few months for the Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA). We were thrilled to see so many members at the 2027 Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Code (UPC & UMC) Code Hearings in San Diego this past May, and shortly after, at the IAPMO Emerging Water Technology Symposium (EWTS) in Scottsdale, AZ. These in-person gatherings are invaluable, and I'm grateful for each opportunity to connect.

Code Hearings and Emerging Technologies. In San Diego, numerous new code proposals were voted on and discussed. I encourage our members to comment on balloted items and engage in the code-making process, as it related to the Uniform Codes. At the EWTS in Scottsdale, we witnessed exciting new water source technologies showcased by industry leaders.

RPA Leadership and Initiatives. We've reached significant milestones recently. The RPA Advisory Committee nominated Jim Kendzel of the American Supply Association (ASA) as committee chair for a two-year term. We've also formed task groups focused on writing projects, with plans to release a new industry publication by year-end. This initiative aims to amplify our voice within the industry. Additionally, we've organized our next webinar series, featuring our talented members, so stay tuned.

Partnerships and Advocacy. Last month, RPA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geothermal Rising (GR), one of the oldest geothermal advocacy groups in the country. The IAPMO Government Relations team supported GR's successful Capitol Hill Day in Washington, DC. We also showed our support for the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSPHA) by speaking at their June town hall webinar, debuting the talk Alliance in Action – Partnerships driving progress.

Upcoming Events and Speaker Opportunities. We are now collecting abstracts for speaker opportunities at the 2025 AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida. The RPA will host business meetings and educational sessions at one of North America's largest Expos for our trade. Our team is preparing panel sessions and educational talks to benefit our members and the AHR audience. If you or someone you know is interested in speaking on behalf of The Alliance, please check out this [Apply Here].

Engage with the RPA Community. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to connect with fellow members, industry leaders, and experts. Utilize your member benefits by registering at discounted rates for upcoming events and participating in vibrant discussions and networking opportunities.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication!

EDUCATION & TRAINING

RPA offers complete education on radiant and hydronics available anywhere in the industry. From contractors, installers, engineers or distributors who are installing and designing the systems, RPA provides engaging and practical courses taught by experts who will help all become better radiant and hydronics professionals. Turn to RPA for training that is cost effective, interactive, and presents the most up-to-date information. For more information on how to contract a seminar or any other education-related inquiries, please contact RPAeducation@radiantprofessionalsalliance.org.

The RPA held this year's first in-person business meeting during the 2024 AHR Expo in Chicago. The focus of the group's efforts was discussed in the presentation “The State of the Alliance” presented by John A. Mullen, followed by a Hydronics Industry Alliance Committee (HIA-C) business meeting, hosted by HIA-C chair Rick Bostian.

The RPA hosted six educational sessions during the AHR Expo which can be viewed below and saved to watch later when you “like” and “subscribe” to the Radiant Pros Channel on YouTube.
