Contract opportunity - Project Coordinator for the Heart of PEI Initiative

The Kensington and Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting proposals for a contracted Project Coordinator to assist in the coordination of resources, equipment, meetings and information for the Heart of PEI project. The Project Coordinator will, with guidance from the Heart of PEI Committee, prioritize and organize projects with the goal of getting them completed on time and within budget. In consultation with the Heart of PEI Committee, the ideal candidate will oversee the Heart of PEI's brand and marketing in accordance with the Heart of PEI’s Initiative's Strategic Tourism Implementation Plan.
This contract is for a one year term, beginning in June 2022 (pending government funding approval) with a contract fee of $20,000.
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Scheduling and monitoring project plans and milestones.
o Work & maintain within budget in collaboration with the Heart of PEI Chair and the KACC.
o Facilitate clear and concise communications between committees.
o Organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings
o Ensuring the project deadlines within each committee are met in a timely manner
o Document and follow up on all important actions and decisions from meetings across committees.
o Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.
o Assist in the design & implementation of external and internal print, digital and marketing materials for the effectiveness and awareness of the project.
o Create and manage a project calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
o Create, post and manage all social media content, potential ad campaigning strategies and audience engagement.
o Provide monthly project reports for the KACC Board meeting detailing activities, finances, milestones, successes, etc.
o Liaise between Heart of PEI working committee and its members, other community groups, organizations, stakeholders and government entities
o Other duties as required and necessary as determined by the Working Committee.
The role may require flexibility at Heart of PEI Working Committee's request for some travel throughout the region.
Kensington and Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC) is a non-profit organization of business people and corporations established with the objective to promote and improve trade and commerce, and the economic, civil, and social welfare of Kensington and the surrounding communities. The Chamber works hard to promote the interest of the business community to Government and the communities at large.
The Heart of PEI (led by the KACC and implemented by a working committee) is dedicated to marketing and building Kensington & Area as a leader in inclusive, authentic experiences that celebrate our land and shores, in the Heart of PEI. The ideal candidate will have an interest in and/or experience in tourism, hospitality or cultural industries.
