Good Afternoon -

The end of the semester is fast approaching - we wanted to send out a note to congratulate you on completing this semester at Wake Forest and to share with you some important information about our communities closing for the semester break.

Please read this message closely and carefully.

• 24-Hour quiet hours continue through the end of the day on December 10.
• All students must depart for Winter Break by 2 p.m. on December 11. 
• Those approved for Winter Break housing and informed of relocation will need to transition accordingly by 2 p.m. on Dec. 11.
• Your Deacon OneCard access will end at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 11. Card access will begin again at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 7.

SPRING 2023 DATES

• Sorority Recruitment
• Friday, January 6 - Move-in/return for CURRENT sorority members 
• Students needing to pick up a key and arriving after 4 p.m. must submit our late arrival form. 
• Saturday, January 7:- Move-in/return for potential new members

• Saturday, January 7
• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Move-in for students moving on to campus for the first time this academic year 
• Students arriving after 4 p.m. must submit our late arrival form. 
• 9 a.m. - Residence Halls open for all students to return

Please note that due to the limited number of business days during the Winter Break, we are unable to accept individual early arrival requests for the spring semester. Students needing to arrive in Winston-Salem before their approved arrival date will need to make their own housing arrangements. The Best Western Plus on University Parkway is offering a $79 per night rate and rooms can be booked here. 

Please be aware that

your room will be entered over the break.

Staff from the Office of Residence Life and Housing will inspect every room to ensure readiness for the break. Our inspection is generally confined to the main area of your room/apt./suite and any areas with windows.

Please be aware that any violations of policy that are observed will be documented and referred to the student conduct system.

Please refer to the Guide to Community Living for a list of all inspection policies as well as possible fines.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Every resident is responsible for the following:

• PACK all belongings you’ll need access to during the break, as well as all valuables.
• PLAN to reset your space for the spring semester. 
• PROTECT your space and your belongings.

• Please note that some items, such as preparing your MicroFridge, require action several days in advance. Please be sure to allow yourself time to prepare appropriately.
• If you have lost your key this semester, please go ahead and submit your lock recore request.
