As the 2024 local and national elections draw near, it’s an exciting time for social workers to step up and make a difference! The NASW Code of Ethics encourages us to champion informed public engagement and shape social policy, even if voting isn’t explicitly listed as an ethical obligation. Voting is a powerful tool to advance our profession’s mission and empower the public to impact the policies and institutions that shape their lives.

With critical decisions on the horizon that will influence social welfare and civil rights policies across the United States, now is the perfect moment for social workers to amplify their political voices and drive real, meaningful change.

To support you in this important endeavor, the NASW-NYS and NASW-NYC Chapters have teamed up to offer a range of engaging chapter chats and opportunities for New York social workers. These events and engagement opportunities are designed to help you learn, connect, and get involved in voter participation and advocacy.

We’re thrilled to share these upcoming items with you and invite you to explore the resources below.
