President's Update
John Stubblefield, Polyglass USA, Inc.
|
|
Fellow RCMA Members,
As your President for the 2018-2019 term, I am honored to communicate with you in this Roof Coating Manufacturers Association's e-newsletter. Over the years as past president of the RRCI and now as an active member of the RCMA, I have seen first-hand the work that the RCMA can do. You can be assured that RCMA will remain committed during my term to serving our members, developing our influence with government officials and agencies, and promoting our industry's recognition. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the ranks of RCMA Presidents and hope that each of you will be active and engaged members during my term.
Before I proceed further, I would like to personally thank our outgoing President, John Stubblefield, for his leadership over the past two years. The hallmarks of John's presidency have included a renewed emphasis and focus on providing exceptional value to all RCMA members and growing and engaging our associate members. John instituted routine evaluation methods that have set the conditions for RCMA to show its impact over time and increase its accountability. He has played a prominent role in advocacy in government affairs. We also thank John for exhibiting his leadership through changes in executive directors.
We kicked off 2018 in New Orleans with our RCMA Annual Meeting- a successful and productive meeting led by John Stubblefield and RCMA Staff. We are looking forward to some great initiatives, including our 4th RCMA International Roof Coatings Conference (IRCC) to be held July 23-26 in Chicago. I urge you not only to register for the IRCC, but to encourage others in your organization to attend as well. This event is an ideal opportunity to engage others in your company-persons who are involved in the science and technology of roof coatings, marketing, research and development, and other activities. Everyone is welcome! The RCMA staff is working on some terrific networking opportunities for the conference as well. You do not want to miss this event.
From a broad perspective for 2018, RCMA will continue to expand its reach and relevance. RCMA is exploring the possibility of forging and strengthening new partnerships with allied organizations such as the National Roofing Contractors Association, the American Coatings Association, and the Coatings Association Consortium. RCMA will continue to advocate proactively in legislative and regulatory arenas to defend and reinforce the value proposition of our industry's products.
We have an exciting year ahead of us all, and I look forward to seeing you this summer at the IRCC in Chicago.
Warm Regards,
Greg Hlavaty RCMA President, Western Colloid
