RCCA 2024 National Conference Call for Proposals

Empower, Engage, Excel: Transforming Rural Learning Landscapes


RCCA is calling on industry professionals to share, present and discuss projects relevant to the 2024 conference theme and tracks. This year, RCCA is also including a “Wild Card” and “Pre-Conference” category in the call for proposals. 


Proposals DEADLINE is May 30, 2024.


Awarded presenters will be notified by June 15, 2024

Spotlight: With national support, MN rural community college can reshape its future

A Minnesota community college serving rural students is receiving a significant boost as part of a national initiative to foster innovation and support smaller institutions.


Riverland Community College, located in southeastern Minnesota, has been selected for the Accelerating Equitable Outcomes initiative by Achieving the Dream. This program will provide Riverland with resources and expertise to enhance student experiences and outcomes, crucial for a college often at the heart of its community.

RCCA 2024 National Conference Keynote Speaker

Bill Daggett, Ed.D., founder of the Successful Practices Network and the International Center for Leadership in Education, is a global leader in education reform.


With a career spanning over 30 years, he champions rigorous and relevant education for all students, co-chairing initiatives like AASA LEARNING 2025 and leading the National Demonstration Network for AASA.


Creator of the Rigor/Relevance Framework and the Future-Focused Success Framework, Daggett's insights have influenced major education associations, school districts, and political leaders. As a former educator and administrator, he emphasizes preparing students for the future and has authored 26 books on education.

The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) is excited to extend an invitation for members to apply to participate in our SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) project focused on strengthening institutional offerings that support students in new and creative ways. 


The project is open to rural or rural serving community colleges and state or regional systems and associations.


As a SNAP E&T third-party provider, community and technical colleges are eligible for partial reimbursement of costs that support students, such as:


  • Books
  • Course registration fees
  • Medical services, including vision and dental
  • Equipment, tools, safety clothing, uniforms
  • Testing and credentialing fees
  • Transportation fares, gasoline, auto repairs
  • Childcare expenses
  • Personal hygiene items
  • And more!


Don’t miss this great opportunity to leverage this under-utilized funding stream. Join a cohort of institutions for extensive technical assistance from national experts, a series of mini-trainings, a plethora of additional resources, and a small stipend.


  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling Basis until the cohort is full.
  • Seeking seven rural/rural serving community colleges and two states/system/intermediary applications.

Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities Round 6: A grant initiative for the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern Border regions


The WORC Initiative aims to fund grants that create economic mobility and address inequities for historically marginalized communities of color, rural areas, and other underserved and underrepresented communities. 


These grants are designed to produce high-quality employment outcomes for workers in the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern border regions, enabling them to remain and thrive in their communities.
