Reston Campers Show They Can!

It’s a very can-do summer for Reston Camps! This summer, Reston Camps joined summer camps across the country in Cans From Campers – a food drive to benefit local food pantries and educate campers on food insecurity in the community. And Reston’s campers delivered! As of this past week (with more cans coming in) – Reston campers have successfully collected more than 1100 pounds of canned goods. All items will be donated to the South Lakes Food Pantry.

All Aboard for the Cardboard Boat Regatta

This Saturday marks one of the most anticipated Reston events of the year. It’s time once again for the Cardboard Boat Regatta! Join host Reston Museum for this community event on Saturday, August 10 beginning at noon on Lake Anne, where dozens of creative boats – made completely of cardboard – test the waters. Reston Association is proud to be a sponsor of this annual event, which brings together residents, businesses, and visitors across the metro area as spectators cheer on their favorite boats. RA has its boat submission as well; you don’t want to miss this event!

We Want Your Suggestions on Reston’s Playgrounds

Reston Association is currently planning for the scheduled renovations of three playgrounds, and we’re looking for your input. Colts Brook, Sanibel and Purple Beeches playgrounds are all scheduled for improvements later this year, and we want to know what you and your children value most about the playgrounds and how they might be able to be improved. Please take the survey to give your feedback. It will be instrumental as we move forward in selecting materials and designs.
