Dive-In Movie Time!

Join us and cool off for a free Dive-In Movie, Finding Nemo (G), on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Academic Village Pool. Get there early as space is limited. Please, no floatation devices, outside coolers, food or drinks. Light refreshments will be provided. Be sure to bring your own portable chair. For more info, please call 954-392-2116.

Batter Up -- It's PlayBall 2023


The City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department invites all residents to swing over to the Mayor’s PlayBall Summer event, which will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Flamingo Park, located at 1900 NW 122 Terrace.

 

The City hosts the Mayor’s PlayBall Summer event each year in conjunction with the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) and Major League Baseball to promote youth baseball and softball. PlayBall 2023 is a great summer event for children who love baseball. There will be free cotton candy, popcorn, and hotdogs to enjoy along with baseball related activities and prizes. There will also be music, games and much more.

 

Children can compete in a friendly Pitch, Hit, Run Competition with separate age divisions, as well as divisions for Beginners and Advanced players. Boys and girls ages 7 to 14 will be given the option of using baseball or softball equipment. Billy The Marlin, the mascot of the Miami Marlins, and the Mermaids will be there for a meet and greet. The first 100 kids at the event will receive a gift from the Miami Marlins. For more information, please call 954-392-2116.

Popular Summer Symphony Series 

 

All ages are welcome to join the City of Pembroke Pines this summer for the ever-popular free Summer Symphony Series. This celebration of music features diverse presentations from the South Florida Symphony and the Symphony of The Americas Chamber Orchestra. All presentations and parking are free to the public. Please note that seating is limited.  No tickets are required. Next in the series is:

 

Sunday, July 9 - 4-6 pm at Charles F. Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way. 

A brass quartet is playing a mix of patriotic, popular and classical selections. 

Pembroke Pines Prepared

Please visit the City of Pembroke Pines' comprehensive Hurricane Prep section on its website at www.ppines.com/hurricane called “Pembroke Pines Prepared.” Information regarding what to do before, during and after a storm is available for all with resources, videos, contacts, etc. The time to get ready is now.

Summer Family Film Fest

These free movies are part of the City of Pembroke Pines Summer Family Film Fest held at the River of Grass Arts Park in the Susan B. Katz Theater, located at 17195 Sheridan Street. Each movie begins at 10 am -- no ticket or reservations are required. Food, drinks and pets are not permitted inside the theater. Movie selections to this fest are subject to change. Lately, the City of Pembroke Pines has seen an increase in residential projects completed without building permits and is concerned about this trend.
