See You at the Skelebration!


A fun favorite each year, the City of Pembroke Pines invites Pembroke Pines residents to a “Skelebration” at Boo-ville at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 6 pm to 9 pm.

 

There will be Trick or Treating and free activities for the entire family. The first 1,000 children will be treated to pre-made Goody Bags. Roaming Monsters (judges) will be out and about judging costumes and dance moves for prizes. Many "not too spooky" surprises are also planned as the entire family will enjoy many different activities all of which will be Halloween themed.

 

The event is free but open for Pembroke Pines residents only and tickets are required. Tickets need to be picked up in person with proof of residency prior to the event. Ticket availability is limited and on a first come, first served basis. Everyone attending must have a ticket. The tickets can be picked up NOW at Pembroke Lakes Tennis, located at 10500 Taft Street (954-431-4146) Monday through Friday 8:30 am- 8 pm and Saturday- Sunday 9 am-5 pm or at Towngate Park, located at 901 NW 155 Ave. (954-450-6895) Monday through Friday 9:30 am – 8 pm and Saturday- Sunday 10 am-5 pm. For more information, please visit www.ppines.com/specialevents

Let's Savor the Sounds 


The City of Pembroke Pines “Savor the Sounds” Music and Food Series is back for all to enjoy. The Fall series begins on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 4-6pm, at the Charles F. Dodge City Center. This free concert series is a fusion of music and food trucks. October's concert will feature Latin style music performed live by Cachi y Saoco Nuevo. The City of Pembroke Pines Art and Cultural Division will also be bringing back Live Painting Artists that will complement the featured musician. October’s artist is Philip Alleman. There is plenty of room to set up lawn chairs, spread a blanket and enjoy a fun-filled evening with music and delicious food which will be available for purchase at the Food Trucks. Please, no pets are allowed. All concerts are held weather permitting and subject to change. Mark your calendars:

Get Your Tickets Now! The City of Pembroke Pines proudly presents an evening at the Charles F. Dodge City Center featuring Chris MacDonald’s Memories of Elvis on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 pm. Santa's Express


The City of Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue and the Local 2292 is proud to present the 26th Annual Santa's Express Program. You MUST BE a resident of Pembroke Pines and have children to register to have Santa visit your home on a fire truck. Santa Stop dates will be December 11-14, 2023, between 5:45 pm - 10 pm. Santa's Sleigh travels from the East side of our City to the West side of the City starting on Monday December 11th. Registration will close when we reach 250 registrants.

 

Registration for Santa's Express 2023 will open on Wednesday November 1, 2023 at 10:00 am. The registration fee will be $15 per child (no cash or checks accepted). Additionally no donations or gifts will be accepted. After you register please be on the lookout for an email on or by November 21, 2023 with details about your Santa Stop.

Go Treasure Hunting 

 

Find special treasures and more while shopping at over 100 different vendors at the Flea Market & Bazaar being held at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center, located at 301 NW 103 Ave., on Saturday, October 28 from 8 am to 3 pm and Sunday, October 29 from 9 am to 3 pm. Guests will be able to browse a variety of handmade keepsakes, artwork, clothing, and more items which are made by locals and small businesses.


This event benefits the Senior Programs at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center. Admission and parking are free. For more information, please call the Center at 954-450-6888.

25th Annual Art and Music Fest in the Pines

 

The City of Pembroke Pines invites you to the 25th Annual Art & Music Fest in the Pines being held at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way, on Saturday, November 4 from 11 am to 8 pm and Sunday, November 5, from 12 pm to 5 pm.

 

The City's iconic event, Artfest, has been rebranded to celebrate its 25th anniversary and the diversity in our local community. This is a two-day art and music celebration free to the public, filled with live music, artists from all over the country, diverse cuisine courtesy of Gourmet Truck Expo, hands-on art demonstrations, a student art competition, a kids’ art and game zone, a belly dancing performance, and so much more.


The Kid’s Art and Game Zone will feature arts and crafts projects for kids by Pines Art Center’s teachers, face painting (Saturday 2:00-4:00 pm) and balloon twisting (Sunday 2:00-4:00 pm) by Ooopsy Entertainment, a life-size coloring mural, a game tent filled with large sized games that all kids will enjoy playing and a bounce house. The Color Bubble will also be onsite Saturday from 11:00-3:00 pm with their mobile art studio to create paintings, slime, and sand art.

The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery will be offering family friendly artist-led workshops for kids throughout the weekend - join environmental artist Melanie Oliva on Saturday, November 4 (12:00 pm, 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm) and Mixed Media Artist Lifrancis Rojas on Sunday, November 5 (1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm). Pre-registration at The Frank front desk is required before each workshop session.


Local students will have their artwork on display as part of the 6th Annual Student Art Competition (winners will be announced Nov. 4 at 2 pm) and nonprofit Pooches in Pines will be onsite on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 12:00 - 4:00pm with dogs up for adoption.
