On 6 February 2022, Queen Elizabeth II marked the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne at Sandringham House in Norfolk. The Queen hosted a reception for members of the local community and volunteer groups. The Queen also expressed her intention to continue to serve the public as well as a wish that her daughter-in-law Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall will eventually be known as queen consort in the next reign.

In recent weeks, I have been speaking and writing about the history of royal jubilee celebrations and the monarchy in Canada, including an interview for the first episode of the Royal Studies Network's 2022 podcast and a new series of articles for the Canadian Encyclopedia.
