The month of April is a very important month in the recognition of children. April 6-12, 2024, The Week of the Young Child (WOYC) is an annual event, sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It provides a time to celebrate and  spotlight the needs of young children. In addition, to thank the early childhood educators and all who are involved in their support and education.

Lakeshore Can Do Science Kit- Magnets Item #1690



With this kit, children will learn the science behind how magnets work! While exploring this kit, children will explore how magnets attract and repel. This ready-to-use kit is packed with materials for hands-on exploration, including six photo activity cards with simple visual instructions to encourage independent exploration

 

Lakeshore Space Theme Box Item #1168



Children will learn all about the solar system and outer space with the comprehensive, hands-on lessons included in this them box. This theme box is packed with materials such as space sand, mini astronauts, photo cards and a puzzle that will help kids explore the depth of space.




Lakeshore Health and Safety Theme Box (Item #586)



With this kit, children will learn how to stay safe and develop healthy habits. The hands-on lessons included in the theme box encourage active listening ad responding to instructions. Children will also count concrete objects, build number sense in addition to increasing gross and fine motor skills.

 


Honeybee Tree (Item #2521)



Children will have so much fun as they develop their fine motor skills trying to pick the leaves from the honeybee tree. This game is essential to teaching children about taking turns and sharing. The Honeybee Tree game also encourages the development of hand-eye coordination, dexterity and strategic thinking.
