The culmination of over a year of research, and outreach led by OEWD and the Central Market CBD along with various community organizations is a comprehensive guide to action in Central Market. CMCBD Welcomes Helene Sautou
It is with great pleasure the CMCBD welcomes Helene Sautou as its new Project Director. Helene brings over a decade of commercial property management and community development experience to the work of the CMCBD. Most recently Helene led the Neighborhood Services division of San Francisco's Urban Solutions in Central Market with a focus on 6th Street and the Tenderloin. Helene's other career accomplishments include project management for a leading real estate developer in Seattle, WA and Pike Place Historic Preservation District where she was a Senior Commercial Property Manager. Welcome Helene!

Strand Theater Kicks Off New Era
Marking the beginning of a new theater era in Central Market District, A.C.T.'s Strand Theater opened in Quarter 2 with a special ribbon cutting ceremony followed by the west coast premiere of Caryl Churchill's tech-centric play,
Love and Information.

1125 Market Street
In June, SF Business Times columnist, Cory Weingberg shared news of a the buildin
g sale at 1125 Market Street. Hong Kong-based developer Great Eagle Holdings paid MacFarlane Partners $19.8 million for the site, which has plans for a 12-story residential building. According to MacF

10 South Van Ness
In April, initial plans were unveiled for two 400 ft towers at 10 South Van Ness. Accordi
ng to SF Business Times, the "C

Market Street Prototyping Festival
April 9th to 11th, Market Street was transformed by approximately 50 engaging and interactive art installations. A test run for
Better Market Street (permanent installations may arrive in
2018,) some invited passerby to climb, others rearranged the cityscape. Some appealed to the ears or eyes, while others were a treat to touch. No matter what your
inclinations, it was an experience to behold. Read more on
