• The Other Foundation
  The Other Foundation has announced the launch of its first pilot grantmaking initiative to advance the rights and well-being of LGBTI people in Southern Africa. The deadline has been extended to February 10.

• Trans Justice Funding Project
  The Trans Justice Funding Project is awarding grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to organizations run by and for trans communities with a budget of less than $250,000.  The deadline is February 15.

• National Committe for Responsive Philanthropy
  NCRP is accepting nominations for its 2014 NCRP Impact Awards, which celebrate foundations of all shapes and sizes that have shown leadership, innovation and commitment to solving the countries toughtest problems. The deadline is March 1.

• Independent Sector
  Independent Sector is accepting nominations for the 2014 John W. Gardner Leadership Award. The deadline is January 31.  Nominations are also being accepted for the American Express NGen Leadership Award, click here for the application/nominating form.  The deadline is February 3.

Recent Grant Award Announcements

• Human Rights Campaign
  HRC has awarded $100,000 to the Russia Freedom Fund.  The fund, which is housed at Arcus Foundation, seeks to foster a safer environment for LGBT people in Russia by supporting local organizations that have been effective at combating discrimination and violence.  

• The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Straight Alliance Fund
  The LGBT&S Alliance Fund, which benefits the LGBT&S community in Southern Arizona, has $54,796 in grants awarded to 15 regional nonprofits. 

• The Helping Others through Partnership and Education (HOPE) Fund
  The Hope Fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan has granted $50,000 to the LGBT Older Adult Coalition.

• George Zuber and Anthony Snyder Charitable Fund, Mona Pittenger Giving Fund, Our Fund, and Aqua Foundation for Women
  The George Zuber and Anthony Snyder Charitable Fund, Mona Pittenger Giving Fund, Our Fund, and Aqua Foundation for Women, have come together to fund a new position at SunServe, dedicated exclusively to serving South Florida's transgender community.

• Stoli Vodka
  To demonstrate that Stoli shares the same desire for justice and equality as the LGBT community, Stoli has awarded $300,000 to the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center.
